Gear & packing

Build a grab-and-go camping kit

Give the little essentials a permanent home so the next trip takes less preparation.

Start with three useful boxes

Getting ready
  • Kitchen kit: pot, mugs, utensils, washing supplies and rubbish bags.
  • Camp setup kit: spare suitable cord, repair patches, pegs and a small brush.
  • Comfort kit: lights, a deck of cards and other small items you always use.

Label what belongs inside

A backpack, stuff sacks and folded rain jacket.
Packed & ready

Tape a short contents list inside the lid. Put anything that needs special storage on a separate departure reminder: fuel, batteries, food and medicine may not belong in a permanently packed hot garage or car. Follow each item’s storage instructions.

Worth remembering

A repeatable kit means less to remember next time.

Make returning home part of packing

A backpack, stuff sacks and folded rain jacket.
Packed & ready

Dry the tent, clean cookware, remove rubbish and check for damaged parts. Replace used supplies before you forget. Keep a short ‘buy or fix’ note with the kit so the next trip begins with a ready box instead of a surprise.
