Cord & camp fixings

After taking down the tent, loosen knots only as needed and check for damaged or frayed sections. Keep compatible adjusters with their cord. If the tent maker recommends leaving guylines attached, follow its packing method so they do not catch in zips or pole connections.

Give each length its own bundle

Cord & camp fixings

Use a simple coil or loose bundle that does not force sharp bends into the cord. Secure it gently with a reusable tie and keep different lengths separate. Label spare cords when their intended use is not obvious.

A damp checkout morning is not unusual. Unpack wet cord and fabric promptly at home, dry them according to the equipment instructions and inspect before storing. Put damaged items on the repair list rather than returning them to the ready-to-go kit.
