Life around camp

Keep a campsite note your future self will thank you for

Remember the quiet pitches, useful facilities and small details a booking photo misses.

Trip notes

Use a notebook or your usual notes app to record the campground, pitch number and dates. Note tent space, ground surface, shade at different times, distance to water and toilets, parking and phone reception during your visit.

Make the note useful for a different trip

A sunny pitch you loved in spring may feel very different in summer. Record the season and weather, group size and the equipment you brought. ‘Near the playground’ is more useful than ‘too noisy’ when someone else might want exactly that location.

Worth remembering

Leave room in the plan for a slow hour outdoors.

End with one decision

Would you book the same pitch, try a different area or bring different equipment? Add one photo that helps you remember the layout without including other campers’ private spaces.
